City Of Bones;

Their hidden world is about to be revealed....

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder — much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Clary knows she should call the police, but it's hard to explain a murder when the body disappears into thin air and the murderers are invisible to everyone but Clary.

Equally startled by her ability to see them, the murderers explain themselves as Shadowhunters: a secret tribe of warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. Within twenty-four hours, Clary's mother disappears and Clary herself is almost killed by a grotesque demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know....

My first thought on reading The Mortal Instruments was conflicted.
I was excited about it, then i assumed it would be another Twilight spin off, filled with forbidden love, and dangerous vampires, and weird conversations about said love. City Of Bones, was nothing like what I'd originally thought it was. I absolutely enjoyed this book. I admire Cassandra's humor, and her ability to make the character's have their own personality, not many book writers can do that, it's often hard to develop personality's for someone.

My Favorite Character was Alec, I have no idea if it was because of the way he carried himself, or his cocky attitude, like he always had to prove himself to Jace.
It was like he was trapped, between loving someone, and proving himself worthy of that someone.

This book, has everything, Faeries, Witches, Vampire's Werewolves, and the people who rule them all, The Shadowhunters, I recommend this book to any and all fantasy lovers .
